Ty Gwynno Meets Royalty

Côr Tŷ Gwynno, the homes choir, has had the Royal seal of approval after performing Calon Lân to their Royal Highnesses who loved the singing. The royals were visiting Pontypridd in south Wales in the run-up to St. David’s Day, a day of national celebration, on March 1. Our residents were thrilled to spend some time with them, and to tell them a little bit about our lovely home.

“When we were made aware that we were having a royal visit to our local market, we knew we could not miss the opportunity to take Cor Ty Gwynno. A picnic was made and we set out for an exciting day. The Ty Gwynno family shared a memorable experience by performing an impromptu song for both the Prince and Princess of Wales. Prinve William complimented our singing and thanked us for waiting .Our favourite song Calon Lan was sung with pride once again. Our lovely resident Advocates Susan and Winnie, and Ceri our acrivities coordinator chatted with both Prince William and Princess Catherine. A memory that will be treasured by us all.
