Welcome to Redwell Hills Care Home

You’ll find Redwell Hills Care Home in the heart of Leadgate village in Consett, with stunning views of Derwent Valley. We offer a range of care types including residential care and respite care.

We are lucky to have a very long serving, friendly and happy team and are in a rural location with lovely views. We are a short drive from the town centre and have great transport links into main towns and cities, making us easily accessible for visitors to pop-in for a chat.

From socialising in our lovely garden to weekly outings and community links with schools and churches, we offer a wide range of activities to help residents live life to the full.

Our bedrooms

Redwell Hills Care Home has 49 single rooms, many of which are en-suite and all of which are beautifully decorated and a good size. When you are ready to move into Redwell Hills Care Home, we would encourage you to bring in items to really make your room your own, bringing in a touch of sentiment. Many of our bedrooms overlook our wonderful gardens which are easily accessible for residents with varying mobility; whichever room you choose, we’re sure you’ll be very happy.

 

Our food

Our food is of the best quality to ensure that you love what you eat and get everything you need nutritionally, too. Here at Redwell Hills Care Home, we understand that nutrition and hydration is the foundation of an individual’s wellbeing. We make sure that our food and drink is at the centre of our social culture; whether it’s breakfast, or an evening’s entertainment, the food & drink will always go beyond expectations and, what’s more – there’s no washing up to do!

Our Head Chef loves to speak with our residents regarding the menu that we offer and is always happy to accommodate special requests for a favourite dish.

Lots of special events take place throughout the year, with friends and family welcome to book a dining table for breakfast, lunch, or dinner to share those times and create special moments and memories.

 

Our activities

Our activities not only encourage our residents to continue with lifelong hobbies but to also try new ones. Our dedicated activity teams are happy to promote, encourage and attend any activity to ensure that your loved ones continue have fun and fulfilment in their lives, and family members are welcome to join in too. Our aim is to promote stimulation for the mind and body, as well as general wellbeing.

Here at Redwell Hills Care Home, we have our very own newsletter for residents and their families to let everyone know about the wonderful goings on at the home.

Our residents enjoy the best of trips out too. From the best garden centre in the area to the park down the road – whatever we do and wherever we go, we always make sure we follow the desires of our residents.

Admission Restrictions

Redwell Hills Care Home accepts individuals aged 65+. All admissions will have a pre-admission assessment.

Parking

Redwell Hills Care Home has a private car park with disabled parking bays, for people visiting the home. There is no charge to use the cark park.

There is also street parking adjacent to the home but please ensure you follow any restrictions in place.

Visiting Redwell Hills Care Home

Contact with relatives and friends is fundamental to their resident’s health and well-being and visits are encouraged.

There are no restrictions or booking requirements to visit Redwell Hills Care Home; however different rules apply should there be an infection outbreak, and they ask to not visit during ‘protected mealtimes’ unless is a part of the essential caregiver role.

 

Consett, County Durham

Consett is a town in County Durham, in North East England. It’s situated about 14 miles southwest of Newcastle upon Tyne and roughly 13 miles northwest of Durham city. Historically, Consett was a major steel-producing town and played a significant role in the industrial history of the UK. Consett is located on the edge of the Pennines and offers striking views over the surrounding countryside. It’s close to areas of natural beauty like the Derwent Reservoir and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town has a strong local identity, with community organizations, local arts projects, and sports clubs playing a big role. Consett also has a non-league football club, Consett A.F.C.
