Maryport is a coastal town in Cumbria, on the edge of the Solway Firth in northwest England. Once a key Roman outpost and later a bustling Georgian port and coal town, Maryport today is known for its rich history, maritime heritage, and scenic waterfront, all framed by views toward southern Scotland across the water.
Maryport is a coastal town steeped in Roman and maritime history, with stunning views across the Solway Firth and a deep local heritage. While quieter than Lake District hotspots, it’s a hidden gem for history lovers, walkers, and those drawn to the slower rhythms of life by the sea.
I've been with Riverside Court now for 4 years having transferred from a sister home in Whitehaven.
Being local to the area since childhood, it's lovely having relatives come in who know myself and my family.
I qualified as a nurse in 1996 and have been fortunate to have worked in a variety of areas, Intensive care, to the community, to GP practice. This allowed me to both expand my knowledge base and adapt my working practice around both my daughters whilst they were growing up, for which I'm grateful for.
