Privacy Statement for Job Applicants

Harbour Healthcare – Privacy Statement for Job Applicants

At Harbour Healthcare, we are proud to care – not only for our residents and their families, but also for the people who choose to join our team. When you apply for a role with us, we will process certain personal data as part of the recruitment process. We do this with care, transparency and respect, in line with our values as a family-run organisation.

What information we process

As part of your application, we may collect and process information about your:

  • Qualifications, education and work experience – to help us assess your suitability for the role.
  • Personal background, such as racial or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender and sexuality – to ensure we are promoting diversity, equality and inclusion in our recruitment process. This information is always optional, and you do not have to provide it.

We are also required to check that people who work with us are fit and suitable for their roles. This may include asking applicants to undertake Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks before starting work.

Protecting your data

We only use your personal information for recruitment purposes and handle it with the same care and integrity that we bring to all of our work. All new colleagues will be given our full Employee Privacy Statement when they join Harbour Healthcare.

Keeping you safe from recruitment fraud

Sadly, online recruitment fraud is increasing. To protect you:

  • Harbour Healthcare will never ask you to make a payment to process a job application or employment offer.
  • An employment offer will never be made before an interview has taken place.
  • If you ever receive such a request, please report it to Action Fraud (www.actionfraud.police.uk) or by calling 0300 123 2040.
